So, in general conditional sentence is formed like :
If + condition, result/consequence
There are 4 type of conditional sentence:
1. Type 1
Type 1 is a conditional sentence where the condition is able to be fulfilled. the formula for conditional sentence Type 1 is:
If + simple present, will + result (bare infinitive/imperative)
For example :
- If I have something to ask, I will call you.
- If there is nothing to do, I will go home.
- If you dont come on time again, you will get fired.
Type 2 is where the condition have a little chance to be fulfilled. the formula used for conditional sentence Type 2 is:
if + simple past, S + would/could/might + bare infinitive
For example :
- If I had much money, I would go around the world
- If we had finished the project in time, we could had a break now.
- If the document weren't on the desk, it would be in drawer.
the formula used in this term is like this:
if + S + were,would/could/might + bare infinitive
3. Type 3
Type 3 is where the conditional will never be able to be fulfill because the condition is unreal. The formula used in Type 3 is like this:
If + past prefect, would/should/could/might + have + past participle
For example:
- If I had born beautiful, I would have been an idol.
- If He had studied hard on school, he would have been at top class.
- If She hadn't been taken, he would gone for here.
Type 4 is where the condition is always fulfilled since it is a scientific fact. The formula used in type 4 is like this:
If + Simple Present, Simple Present
for exampe :
- If you doesn't drink enough in hot days, you gets dehydrated.
- If use PC too much, it damage my eyesight.
- If we go out in winter, the weather is cold.
